Early February 2014, the 4th grade students worked with Stevie Thorsen, from the American Littoral Society, to plant individual sea grass in cups. The seedlings will be transplant to the Sea Bright and Sandy Hook NJ beaches to help protect the beaches from erosion. Mrs. Thorsen gave a fantastic presentation and the students learned about the importance of maintaining the dunes and protecting the environment. The 4th graders were amazed and fascinated by all they learned and how, by doing something so small, they too could help protect their beaches and give back to the community.
